The Glades RV Resort
We had a four day weekend last week because of MLK day.  Less than 2 hours away is The Glades RV Resort.  This place is real quiet and out of the way.  The staff is very friendly and the people that stay there are also.  The place is currently in a growing phase and many new sites are being built.  The project is just about done - just some landscaping to do.

Each site has full hookups including 50 and 30 amps.  They have WIFI.  The sites are big and you don't have that closed in feeling.  There are no tents sites.  They have a nice size pool also.  There is a Walmart about 15 minutes away.  The towns of Clewiston, Moore Haven, and La Belle are within 10 miles and have grocery stores and other shopping.  Fishing is a big deal around here.  Lake Okeechobee is real close and the park is right on the Caloosahachee River.  The Glades also has a marina with docking available.  I'm not big into fishing so that part I didn't investigate in detail.  The golf course is relatively challenging and is only 9 holes but another 9 are in the works.  There are scrambles 3 times a week and other friendly contests all the time.  The Resort also has a real nice clubhouse and there are events - games, lessons, lectures, etc. going on almost everyday.

We went on a nice motorcycle ride on the back roads through Moore Haven and LaBelle.  The weather was iffy so we didn't get to go riding as often as we wanted.  There is a large Flea Market on the west side of Ft. Myers which was about 45 minutes away and we spent about a half a day there.  You need to get there early because it gets pretty crowded.

There are also a few small cabins available for rent near the golf course.
