Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral
October was a busy month, I went to Highland Hammocks (see Archives) for the Run to the Heartland motorcycle rally and HH was very nice as usual.  Then the second weekend in October we went to the HOG State Rally in Cocoa Beach and we stayed in Jetty Park which is part of Port Canaveral.  Most of the sites are nice.  They are a little close together buy nothing you can't live with.  We happened to get one of the larger sites but it was only 30 amp and water - no sewer.  There is an awesome beach at the park and a large marina.  Some of the sites are full hookup but most of them are water and electric only.  Some have 50 amp but again most have only 30 amp.  You can only make reservations up to 90 days in advance.  If there is a shuttle launch at the Cape, you better make reservations right at the 90 day mark, otherwise there are usually sites available.  It rained on and off the entire 4 day weekend we were there and we scooted around inbetween the raindrops.
Nearby is Port Canaveral.  Several cruise ships leave each day - the Disney Cruise Ship is a site to see.  You can pull up your chair and watch the cruise ships enter and leave the port right from the park.  Nearby, all part of the port complex, are some really nice seafood restaurants and several tropical night clubs with entertainment.  There seems to always be something going on.  And of course right down the street is Cocoa Beach - world famous for all kinds of beach activities.
Jetty Park is a keeper.  The price is right, there is lots to do, and the amenities although not outstanding are very acceptable.
