Chokoloskee Island Resort & Marina
This RV resort is part of the Outdoor Resorts of America.  It is well off the beaten path in a small Florida fishing village called Chokoloskee.  The resort has all the amenities - 50 amp/water/sewer/cable/wifi.  There is a nice pool with a hot tub.  Since it is in the middle of a fishing village, the resort is centered on fishing of course.  There are docks behind about half of the RV sites at which you can dock your boat.  There is also a full service marina on the premises.  It is only a short boat ride to the Gulf of Mexico but there is plenty of fishing also in and around the multitude of small islands that surround Chokoloskee.
It is fun to explore this little town.  At the very end of the road - there is basically only one road - there is a museum which houses the original trading post with all kinds of turn of the century (1800-1900 that is) artifacts.  It is really well worth seeing.  There is a strip of stores - not really - just a breakfast place, general store, real estate office, and chamber of commerce which is called the Chokoloskee Mall.  There is a great little coffee shop in Chokoloskee that is run by some really friendly people and they have breakfast besides coffee.  There is also entertainment in the evening sometimes with the coffee.
The town of Everglades City which is just down the road, closer to civilization, hosts a famous seafood festival in February of each year.  The town is bigger than Chokoloskee, but not by much and has lots of quaint shops and restaurants.
There are no major stores in Chokoloskee or Everglades City, just a small grocery and hardware store.  The closest Walmart is in Naples, about 45 miles away.
