Leesburg Bikefest - Lake Harris RV Resort
Towards the end of April, Leesburg has a Bikefest.  It's a BIGEE!  Hundreds of thousands of bikers come to the small town of Leesburg in central Florida to listen to bands, watch all kinds of shows involving trick bikes, precision riding, safety, and even frisbee catching dogs.  There were a ton of vendors selling their latest "you got to have this" wares.  There also was of course plenty of food and beer.
We stayed at Lake Harris RV Resort also know as Fishermans Cove.  This place has all the amenities - 50 amp, full hookup, cable, wifi, etc.  It is basically a Snowbird haven and you cannot even get in there during the season (Nov - March).  But in April it was pretty empty and we had our choice of sites.  There were a bunch of other bikers that stayed there also for the festivities in Leesburg which was about 6 miles away.  We didn't hang out much at the park but they also have a big marina which sits on Lake Harris - hence the name.  They have a large indoor boat storage facility and a marine store.  The park is undergoing renovations and the new sites are pretty spectacular.  There is also a 9 hole par 3 golf course on site which is okay for practicing your short game.  Lots of shopping nearby and restaurants galore - steak, seafood, fastfood, you name it.
The highest point in the peninsula of Florida is just down the road.  It is called Sugarloaf Mountain (it's really a hill) with an elevation of about 300 ft above sea level.  We took a ride up there and the views were pretty awesome.  There is also one of the best golf courses in Florida close by called Mission Inn in a place called Howey in the Hills (yes that is a name of a real town).
The surrounding area is filled with citrus groves and wilderness and we had some very scenic motorcycle rides through the area.
